For the purposes of being transparent I feel it is important to let people know that as of April 2010 I will be receiving money from Murdoch in exchange for some of the posts I write. Here are the answers to some questions I feel people might have but if your question isn’t answered please email me on nurgey@hotmail.com

Q: Does this make you a sell-out?
A: Absolutely.

Q: Really?
A: No! I still have complete creative control over my blog and Murdoch cannot ask me to remove an article unless it is defamatory or just plain wrong.

Q: Now that you’re making fat stacks of cash to promote the University how can I trust your integrity?
A: Honestly I can’t simply tell you to trust me. I will try and not allow my arrangement with Murdoch to influence my opinions in any way and I will label any article I am being paid to write very clearly. Beyond that you have to make your own mind up.

Q: Are you a marketing mouthpiece?
A: I don’t believe I am. It’s true that I am being paid by Murdoch and sometimes they will ask me to write about their advertisements but they have stressed to me that I am under no obligation to do so. If I write something it’s because I choose to.
